The American periodical The New York Times, in its article entitled "Russia, circumventing sanctions, imports Western military technologies," singled out Armenia as a country that exports electronic chips and other military electronic products to Russia. According to the New York Times, "After the war in Ukraine, Russia started importing several military products with the help of Armenia and Kazakhstan, bypassing the sanctions."
The New York Times writes, "US and European officials are increasingly concerned that Russia is acquiring American and European goods by importing them through Armenia, Kazakhstan, and other Central Asian countries."
"One document marked with the US Bureau of Industry and Security seal states that in 2022, Armenia imported 515 percent more chips and processors from the United States and 212 percent more from the European Union than in 2021. Then Armenia exported 97 percent of the same goods to Russia," the document says.
