Miguel Diaz-Canel was re-elected as the President of Cuba

On April 19, the Cuban parliament re-elected the current leader of the country, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, to the position of president. He will serve until 2028.
459 of the present 462 deputies were in favor of the appointment.

The current vice president of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, was re-elected for one term. The composition of the government was also confirmed.
