Slovakia joined Poland and Hungary in unilaterally suspending grain and other food imports from Ukraine to protect their farmers.
"The EU expects that the Central European countries will present certain explanations," said a high-ranking EU official.
Poland and Hungary announced their bans over the weekend, and Slovakia on Monday. Bulgaria has also said it is considering joining the ban.
