Referring to the Ministry of Information of Syria, the Al Mayadeen TV channel reports that Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud, for the first time since 2011, will leave for Damascus on an official visit on Tuesday.
Last week, Prince Faisal held talks with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Saudi Jeddah, as a result of which the parties adopted a joint statement. The visit of a senior Syrian official to Saudi Arabia, the first since the countries severed diplomatic relations in 2011, preceded a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Gulf states, Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq, on restoring Syria's full membership in the League of Arab States.
