Former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has said that French President Emmanuel Macron's recent visit to China is a "sign of weakness" as the French president asks Beijing for support in ending the war in Ukraine.
Truss said in his speech that any attempt by Western leaders to persuade Xi Jinping would be a mistake. Truss is expected to urge the UK government to put more economic pressure on Beijing as the Chinese "build up and strengthen their weapons" and "endanger free and democratic" Taiwan.
