"The work on the peace treaty with Armenia is not going very smoothly;" Aliev

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev met today in Astana. At the press conference following the meeting, Aliyev referred to the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, the peace process, and current negotiations.

In particular, he stated: "The work on the peace treaty with Armenia could be better, but Azerbaijan aims to regulate relations with Yerevan.

I informed my colleague (the President of Kazakhstan) about the current state of the negotiation process. We are adamant about working out the relationship. It was Azerbaijan who proposed to start work on the peace treaty, which is in the experimental stage, it has already begun, but it is not going as smoothly as we would like," Aliyev added.
