Russia uses religion as a weapon

Since the invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops or occupation authorities have committed at least 76 acts of religious persecution in Ukraine. says a new study by the American Institute for the Study of War.

"Russian forces closed, nationalized or forcibly destroyed at least 26 places of worship of the Kremlin-controlled Russian Orthodox Church, killed or captured at least 29 clergy or religious leaders, and looted, desecrated or deliberately destroyed at least 13 places of worship," the report said.
