On Sunday, the electric car manufacturer announced on Twitter that Tesla is opening a mega factory in Shanghai. The plant will be able to produce 10,000 large batteries a year, which are used to store electricity. The company announced the new plant by attaching a photo of the signing ceremony.
"Tesla opens Megapack factory in Shanghai to supplement production at Megapack plant in California," Elon Musk wrote on Twitter.
