The deputy press secretary of the US Ministry of Defense, Sabrina Singh, announced that about 9,000 American soldiers are expected to participate in the Defender 23 exercise, which will begin on April 22.
"Approximately 9 thousand people will participate. American military and about 17 thousand. Soldiers from 26 allied and partner countries and part of the exercise will be held in 10 different European countries," said Singh.
According to the Pentagon, in addition to US troops, military personnel from Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia will participate in the exercise.
Meanwhile, Defender 23 will feature Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
