Frenchman Bernard Arnaud has become the wealthiest man in the world. The owner of Louis Vuitton and Dior, with an estimated fortune of $211 billion, pushed Elon Musk ($180 billion) back from the top spot. The third is the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos.

During the year, the wealth of almost all Russian billionaires increased. Only seven remain in the world's top 100: Andrey Melnichenko (58th place with $25.2 billion), Vladimir Potanin, Vladimir Lisin, Leonid Mikhelson, Alexei Mordashov, Vagit Alekperov, and Gennady Timchenko.
