"If Azerbaijan does not attack in the spring, our mission will already be successful;" Head of the EU observation mission

The German publication Deutsche Welle addressed the issue of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. The website's article states that the 2020 Armenian-Azerbaijani ceasefire is fragile, and Armenian citizens fear a new escalation.
Markus Ritter, the head of the EU mission located in the Armenian part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, noted that although many Armenians are satisfied with the deployment of the mission, observers are not allowed to enter the territory of Azerbaijan, so they cannot observe, for example, the movement of troops preparing for the next attack.
"Many Armenians believe that Azerbaijan will attack in the spring. If this does not happen, our mission is already successful," said Ritter.
