Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday he would delay a vote on his planned judicial reforms, but analysts say that may not be enough to stop the protests. The prime minister said he would delay a second and third vote on the legislation until the Jewish holiday of Lent, April 5-13, to "allow time for a real debate."
Nevertheless, Netanyahu insisted that the reform is necessary. And while he is trying to buy time for himself, it is unclear whether delaying the vote will silence the massive protests and mass strikes that have paralyzed the country.
