Japan will continue to export gas together with Russia

Japan intends to continue participating in the Sakhalin oil and gas projects, which is essential to ensure its energy security. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced this in a speech in the parliament on Monday.

Russia had previously decided to take the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects under its jurisdiction. Japanese companies have agreed to maintain participation in both projects, and Moscow has approved the retention of shares.
