"We call on all parties to take urgent steps to restore free movement in the Lachin Corridor," Mirzoyan (VIDEO)
The RA and RF Foreign Ministers Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov press conference is underway in Moscow. Mirzoyan, in particular, stated, "My visit takes place against tensions in the South Caucasus and Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor for more than three months. Azerbaijan's blockade of the Lachin Corridor is a gross violation of the tripartite declaration of the RA, RF, and USA leaders. We expect urgent steps from all participating parties to implement the trilateral mandate and restore movement in the Lachin Corridor.
Unfortunately, the Lachin Corridor blockade is not an isolated incident; The killing of 3 officers of the Nagorno-Karabakh Police on March 5 is a part of it. The deployment of the Russian peacekeeping force is meant to create everyday life and security conditions. The series of events of the last two years is alarming. That is, the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh villages, the detention of Armenian prisoners of war, the blockade of the Lachin corridor, the killing of police officers and civilians, the constant violations of the ceasefire regime, as well as the terrorizing of the civilian population."
