The EU has increased the volume of the European peace fund by 2.2 billion euros

The European Union has increased the volume of the European Peace Fund by 2.2 billion euros, bringing it to 7.979 billion euros by 2027. It is the fund from which arms supplies to Ukraine are paid. This was stated in the statement of the EU Council on Tuesday.

Earlier, the head of the EU's foreign policy service, Josep Borrell, called for 1 billion euros from that fund to be allocated to EU countries in March to compensate Kyiv for emergency ammunition supplies from its strategic reserves.
