The US will spend a record amount of money on the purchase of weapons in 2024

The US plans to spend 170 billion dollars on the purchase of weapons in the fiscal year 2024, which will be a historical record, according to the White House's budget proposal for the needs of the US defense.
"The budget provides $170 billion in funding, which would be the largest acquisition in history," the Pentagon said in a statement.
In addition, the Pentagon's draft budget calls for a "record investment" of $145 billion in weapons research, development, and testing.
