On March 10, the All-China Assembly of People's Representatives re-elected Xi Jinping to the post of President of the People's Republic of China for the third five-year term. All 2952 deputies voted for Xi's candidacy.
This became possible after amendments were made to the country's constitution in 2018, which allowed the head of state to hold this position unlimited times. Before that, the presidents of the People's Republic of China could fulfill their duties for only two consecutive terms.
