"Freedom House," an international human rights organization, published its 2023 report, also referred to Armenia. The report, among other issues, also talks about the threat to democracies from authoritarian countries.
"Democratization also failed to stabilize in the countries of some regions. Most of the states that emerged after the collapse of the USSR continues to be dominated by "strongmen" (autocrats), who turned Soviet-era connections into kleptocratic networks, enriching their family members while impoverishing ordinary citizens. These corrupt authoritarian regimes have similarly fueled instability and threatened democracies throughout the region. In addition to Moscow's war against Ukraine, other conflicts are border clashes, among which are the tension between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and the increasing threats to Armenia by Azerbaijani forces."
