President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, receiving the head of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, addressed the issue of nuclear safety and pointed out the activity of the Metsamor NPP in Armenia.
Aliyev stated, "the plant creates a great nuclear threat for Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia, and the entire region, works with old technologies, and has serious technical problems." Aliyev added that "the illegal trade of some nuclear materials from the Metsamor NPP causes concern."
