The United States is discussing with close allies the possibility of imposing new sanctions on China if Beijing provides military support to Russia over the war in Ukraine, according to some US officials and other sources.
The consultations, which are still in their preliminary stages, aim to get support from several countries (especially the G7) to coordinate and support any potential restrictions.
