The incident during the Fenerbahce-Antalyaspor and Fenerbahce-Konyaspor football championship matches made a big noise in Turkey.
Before the matches, a group of fans of the Turkish Besiktas and Fenerbahce football clubs chanted anti-government chants from the stands in the context of the situation in Turkey after the devastating earthquake, demanding the resignation of the Turkish authorities.
The incident received a comprehensive response among pro-government and opposition politicians in Turkey.
In particular, the head of the Nationalist Movement party, Devlet Bahceli, also considered a member of the ruling coalition in Turkey, condemned what happened. Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu was also among the condemners.
Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkey's former prime minister and foreign minister, who now leads the opposition Future Party (GP), condemned Soylu and Bahceli for flattering the government.
Davutoglu demanded Erdogan's resignation earlier, arguing that the Turkish president was responsible for what happened.
