Washington is aware of Ankara's real concern

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken visited Turkey. This is the first visit by the Secretary of State during his two years in office.

According to the Anadolu Agency, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated that the US administration actively supports the position of the Turkish authorities regarding the purchase and modernization of the F-16 fleet.

The Turkish Foreign Minister reminded the US Secretary of State about Washington's obligations regarding Syria and emphasized the wrongness of the fight against ISIL terrorists with the support of other terrorists.

Blinken, in turn, noted that Washington is aware of Ankara's genuine concern regarding Turkey's southern border security.

Turkey-NATO joint operations were also mentioned, "The potential of joint operations between Turkey and NATO is always important for us, as stated by US President Joe Biden," said Blinken.
