The US Embassy in Moscow has called on its citizens and dual citizens to leave Russia immediately
The US Embassy called on its citizens and dual citizens not to visit Russia. The message says: "Do not travel to Russia due to the unintended consequences of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and detention of US citizens by Russian government security officials, and arbitrary enforcement of local laws." Restrict flights to Russia. US citizens living in or traveling to Russia should leave immediately. Be careful about the risk of illegal arrests," the embassy said in a statement.
"The Russian government has recruited citizens into armed forces to strengthen its invasion of Ukraine. Russia can refuse to recognize US citizenship of dual citizens, prevent them from using US consular assistance, mobilize them, prohibit their exit from Russia, and conscript them," the message says.
