The Main Center of Radio Frequency (MCRF), under the authority of "Roskomnadzor," reported that the "Oculus" system for detecting the content of prohibited information has been operating in Russia since 2023.
Last week, several independent media outlets, including the Modern Times Investigative Project and RFE/RL's Sistema System, published an investigation into the operation of the GRC and its surveillance systems. Russian authorities have yet to officially confirm that such a system for filtering content on the Internet exists.
