Russia will voluntarily reduce oil production by 500,000 barrels in March but will not sell it below the price ceiling. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, announced this. "It will contribute to restoring market relations," commented Novak.
Immediately after the news release, Brent prices rose from $84.2 to $86 per barrel.
