20 Russian generals were killed in Ukraine; The Insider

Since the invasion of Ukraine, more than 20 Russian generals have been killed. Writes the Nikkei newspaper, citing Japanese intelligence data. These calculations are based on information collected by the Japanese in cooperation with the United States and the European Union.

Former Chief of Staff of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Forces, retired General Kiyofumi Iwata, called that number "unbelievably high."

Iwata explains the unusually high number of killed generals because the Ukrainian army is technologically superior to the Russian one and successfully calculates the location of high-ranking officers. The practice of sending generals to the war zone also contributes to generals' death.
