"The German government will approve the allocation of Leopard-1 battle tanks from the industrial reserves to Ukraine," wrote the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) newspaper.
Germany's Rheinmetall and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft may soon produce dozens of Leopard-1 tanks for delivery to Ukraine. However, SZ notes that issues related to the purchase of ammunition still need to be resolved. Last week, Berlin decided to supply Ukraine with 14 Leopard 2s from the army's warehouses.
