Deputy Spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, referred to the decision to appoint diplomat Louis Bono as the new senior negotiator of the State Department in the Caucasus, stating that the US will continue to be deeply involved in settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
"Louis Bono will lead the USA's involvement in establishing peace and stability in the South Caucasus. He also represents the USA in the Minsk Group co-chair format.
The regulation of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations is one of the clear priorities of the Biden administration, and Bono, with his experience in working on complex and problematic issues, is one of the senior specialists of the State Department. He enjoys the personal trust of the Secretary of State Blinken by assuming this status," he said.
To remind, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has appointed diplomat Louis Bono as the new senior negotiator of the State Department in the Caucasus.
