Russian opposition figure and public speaker Alexander Nevzorov was sentenced to 8 years in absentia on charges of spreading "fake" news about the army. The Basman court in Moscow also banned journalists from "managing Internet resources" for four years.

According to the accusation, Nevzorov published "obviously false information," particularly about Bucha and Mariupol. The prosecution demanded a 9-year prison sentence for him.
