"The United States is committed to using conventional and nuclear weapons to defend South Korea," Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said on Tuesday, speaking at a joint press conference with South Korean Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup in Seoul.
Austin noted that 28,500 American servicemen are serving in South Korea, one of the most significant US troops abroad.
