The transfer of German tanks to Ukraine depends on the US

The American newspaper Político, referring to its sources, reports that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not want to decide to supply Leopard tanks to Ukraine until the United States shows leadership in this matter.

Yesterday, Polish President Andrzej Duda promised to provide Ukraine with about one and a half dozen Leopard 2, but this issue still requires coordination with allies. Transferring tanks manufactured in Germany and service with Polish troops requires Berlin's consent.

Two anonymous German officials told Político that Scholz is deciding on sending tanks to Kyiv through Biden.
