The press service of the Kremlin reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi.
Current issues on the Russian-Iranian agenda were discussed, and emphasis was placed on the further development of the entire range of bilateral cooperation. In particular, the presidents supported consistently implementing mutually beneficial energy, transport, and logistics projects.
While discussing international issues, the parties positively assessed the close coordination established within the framework of the Astana process, which plays a vital role in settlement of the Syrian revolution. The presidents expressed their willingness to continue cooperation to settle the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic and restore its territorial integrity.
It is noted that Putin and Raisi plan to hold high-level bilateral contacts.
