Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told his Azerbaijani counterpart on Monday that Iran rejects the intervention of extra-regional countries and will not accept geopolitical changes within its borders.
Ghalibaf and Sahiba Gafarova met in Antalya, Turkey, within the framework of the 13th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
The high-ranking Iranian official also told his Azerbaijani counterpart that parliamentary cooperation can play a major role in the development of relations between the two neighbors.
"We can have good relations with each other in the regional and global arena, and the closer the countries in the region are, the better for the region. We should not allow non-regional countries to interfere in this area. We will not accept any geopolitical changes on the border," Ghalibaf stressed.
