On December 28, the international organization "Reporters without Borders" (RSF) published that in the past 2022, around the world, at least 59 mass media employees have died due to circumstances arising from their work.
80% of them were killed as a result of journalistic investigations.
For the fourth year, Mexico remains the most dangerous country for journalists. In the past year, at least 11 journalists who covered hot topics, such as organized crime, were killed there. In half a dozen other cases, RSF has yet to prove a link between the deaths of Mexican journalists and their work.
