Georgia sells its resorts to Qatari investors

The Minister of Economy, Levan Davitashvili, announced that the government of Georgia plans to transfer five more abandoned sanatoriums of the Tskhaltubo balneological resort to the Qatari investment group.

According to him, at the expense of Qatar's investments, a high-level hotel, rehabilitation, and resort environment will be created in Tskhaltubo. We are talking about a chain of hotels of different classes.

The minister did not specify which sanatoriums the Qatari investment group was interested in but said that the minimum cost of privatization would be about 4.5 million dollars, and the investor's obligations will be up to 15 million dollars.
