Turkey and Syria will continue contacts along the lines of military departments

Due to negotiations with his Syrian counterpart Ali Mahmud Abbas in Moscow, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced that Turkey and Syria would continue contact in military departments in the coming days.  

"We hope that the works that will be carried out in the coming days will allow us to make a serious contribution to ensuring peace and stability in the region and Syria," quoted the minister's speech by the TRT TV channel.

On December 28, for the first time in 11 years, the Ministers of Defense of Turkey and Syria met in Moscow. The meeting took place in a tripartite format with the participation of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoigu.
