The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed concern about the condition of Mikheil Saakashvili, who has Ukrainian citizenship and called on Georgia to allow him to be transferred abroad for treatment.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is deeply concerned about the significant deterioration of the health condition of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili. Taking into account the critical condition of the citizen of Ukraine, we call on the Georgian side to provide him with proper medical assistance, as well as to satisfy the petition to postpone the sentence of Mikheil Saakashvili to transfer him to one of the European or American clinics for further treatment," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
