Germany will buy $10 billion worth of F35 fighter jets

The budget committee of the German parliament has approved significant defense procurement projects, including purchasing F-35 fighter jets. The Minister of Defense of the country announced this.

"This is a good day for the German armed forces, the Bundeswehr," Christine Lambrecht told a press conference in Berlin, adding that the confirmed purchases also included new assault rifles and upgraded Puma self-propelled guns.

According to the Ministry of Defense, purchasing 35 Lightning-II fighters will cost Germany 10 billion euros ($10.6 billion), and the first batch will be delivered to the country in 2027.
