On Wednesday, Pope Francis called on believers to meet Christmas modestly and send the saved money to Ukrainians.
"It is good to celebrate holidays. But let's cut costs a bit. Let's celebrate Christmas more modestly, with more modest gifts, and send what we save to the Ukrainian people who need it," Francis said.
