She was charged with conspiracy in a criminal group, money laundering, and corruption. Six people were detained, almost all Italians from Kylie's close circle. A "bag full of banknotes" was found in the house of Eva Kaili, one of the 14 vice presidents of the European Parliament. The Greek MP represents the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, and in her homeland, she is a member of PASOK (Pan-Hellenic Socialist Movement). Both left-wing parties have been quick to expel Kail from their ranks.

After Eva Kail's arrest, prosecutors issued a whole warrant for her arrest. According to the law, politicians can be detained for one month before the start of the trial.
