Russia and the USA exchanged political prisoners. Russian citizen Victor Bout, imprisoned in the United States and accused of arms smuggling, was exchanged for basketball player Brittney Greiner, who was arrested in Russia. The exchange took place at Abu Dhabi airport. Bout was handed over to Russian representatives in exchange for American basketball player Greiner.
