Russia is ready to organize the Erdogan-Assad meeting

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov supported establishing direct contacts between the presidents of Turkey and Syria, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad.

"We are always ready to meet our Syrian friends and our Turkish colleagues. And if they see such a need or benefit in our mediation or in providing a Russian platform for holding such meetings, then we are always ready," said Bogdanov. According to him, the holding of the meeting depends on the political will of the country's leaders.

To hold such meetings, it is necessary to carry out preparatory work so that as a result of the event, "positive results are achieved, which are necessary for both Syria and Turkey and the region as a whole."
