During the hearing before the foreign relations committee of the US Senate, Lynn Tracy, the candidate for the US ambassador to Russia, spoke about Armenian-American and Armenian-Russian relations. Before being nominated by US President Joe Biden for the post of US Ambassador to Russia, she held the same position in Yerevan.
"Armenians tell me that because they don't want to return to the past, to corrupt leaders, they want to find a brighter future. The subject of Russia is being discussed again; the problem is this. Armenians say that their previous and current relations with Russia do not satisfy the needs of today's Armenia. I think we, the United States and Armenia, are now in the next phase; we are having some important talks about how we can be useful to Armenia, which I believe continues to strive for a more democratic and secure future." said Tracy.
"There are also many security challenges in which Russia plays a role, and we should pay attention to them," the American diplomat added.
