A new law on foreign agents comes into force in Russia

As reported by the Russian media, the new law on foreign agents, "On control over the activities of persons under foreign influence," came into force in Russia on December 1.

It summarizes the current norms of Russian legislation on foreign agents and introduces several new provisions.

The law defines a foreign agent as someone who has received support or is under alien influence in other ways and carries out political activities, purposefully collects information on Russia's military and military-technical activities, or distributes messages and materials to an unlimited range of intended people.
