Air pollution causes 1 million stillbirths every year

Chinese and American scientists have found that 1 million stillborn babies are born annually due to air pollution.

The authors of a new study published in the journal Nature found out for the first time the effect of the high concentration of microparticles in the air on the number of fetal deaths.

The researchers examined data from 45,000 births between 1998 and 2016 in 54 low- and middle-income countries.
