"Real progress has been achieved in regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan." Ricker

"I was happy to visit Baku and talk with you about the United States Embassy in Azerbaijan. The potential of Azerbaijan is noticeable. Every time I come back here, I see the growth of the economy and the opportunities for the entire South Caucasus region," Ambassador Philip Ricker, the chief adviser on Caucasian negotiations of the US State Department, is visiting Azerbaijan, said in a video message.

“Aware of the importance of geography, he (Anthony Blinken) asked me to visit this region. Now I am in Baku, from here I will go to Tbilisi and Yerevan. Geography and history meet in this region. We know that the peace process is not easy. I know that the conflict has caused great hardship and suffering to both sides over the years. But I believe that there is hope for a peaceful future. I hope that the momentum gained during the peace talks can be maintained and a new chapter in history can be opened to ensure a brighter future."

The diplomat added that now he notices the simple and bold steps of the two countries, which look to the future and want to achieve lasting peace.

He noted that real progress has been made in the regulation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
