Official Moscow has sent a request to India for assistance in supplying spare parts for cars, planes, and trains. Russia is now constrained by international sanctions and needs them to maintain vital industries.
As Reuters reports, citing its sources, there are about 500 products on the list handed over to India.
The agency clarifies that this list is preliminary. It is unclear what and how much will be sent to Russia, but a source in the Indian government told Reuters that the list itself is very unusual in its scope. It consists of 14 pages. Russia requires about 200 metallurgical products and many components for the automotive and aviation industries: pistons, oil pumps and ignition coils, bumpers, seat belts, landing gear components, fuel systems, communication and firefighting systems, life jackets, and aircraft tires.
Also mentioned are raw materials for producing paper and consumer packaging and materials and equipment for making textiles, including fabric and dyes.
India is trying to increase trade with Russia, but some companies fear it could be subject to Western sanctions.
