On Tuesday, the Financial Times reported that the United States is putting pressure on NATO allies in European countries, demanding a tougher stance toward China and concrete measures to contain Beijing.
The newspaper source noted that the new strategic concept of NATO, agreed upon in June, refers to the "solution of systemic problems" created by China, so the negotiations on this issue continue.
In turn, the representative of the US State Department said that the foreign ministers of the NATO countries would discuss the flexibility of the alliance members and the ways to neutralize the challenges arising from China during the meeting in Bucharest. "We deeply appreciate and encourage the common European approach towards China," the official said.
