Presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia Kasim-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin met in Moscow.
"After Tokaev's re-election, the first foreign visit to Russia is of particular importance and emphasizes the nature of the relations between the two countries," said Vladimir Putin, adding that he highly appreciates it. Putin also noted that Russia was and remained the biggest investor in Kazakhstan's economy.
For his part, Tokaev confirmed that the visit to Russia has both a profound political significance and a specific symbolism.
