Zakharova refused to disclose the details of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace negotiations
"The issue of signing the peace treaty, like other issues of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, is susceptible," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said at the weekly briefing, answering the question of NEWS.ru. According to her, commenting on the parties' positions is inappropriate before concrete agreements emerge.
"The topic of the peace treaty, like other issues of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, is susceptible. We consider it inappropriate to comment on the positions of the parties before reaching concrete agreements," Zakharova said.
Zakharova noted that the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister Igor Khovaev was in Yerevan last week. Within the framework of his tour, he held several consultations with the political leadership of Armenia, and now he is in Baku to meet with the Azerbaijani side. During these contacts, among other issues, issues of the peace treaty are discussed.
